Rochelle Pike Pettigrew
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Rochelle Pike Pettigrew, 98, of 2235 Lacy Street, Burlington, died at her residence on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 7:40 p.m. Mrs. Pettigrew was in good health until the last three months of her life.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late Robert Abner Pettigrew and the daughter of Ben H. Pike and Fleta Teague Pike, both deceased. She was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church. In her younger life, she was a member of Love's Creek Baptist Church in Siler City.
Survivors include her daughter, Edna M. Pettigrew of Burlington and her friend, Jim Link; her son, Carlos B. Pettigrew of Charlotte; one granddaughter, Carla Pettigrew Hufstedler and husband, Larry, of Norfolk, Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Pike Isley and husband, the Rev. Hobert Isley, of Gibsonville.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Benjamin Pettigrew; a sister, Virginia Pike Hackney; and three brothers, Thomas H. Pike, Clyde H. Pike and Clem Pike.
The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 12 noon by Dr. Ben F. Williams. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Saturday from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m.
